Great fun in Tignes – without skis
Yes, Tignes is all about skiing. But when your kids – or you – want to try something different, there is a great menu of activity options. For families with children a visit at the swimming centre Le Lagoon, right in the centre of Tignes Le Lac, is a great choice. There is a gym, a swimming pool, water slides, kids pool and more.
If you’re hooked on adrenaline kicks (and age 14 and over) the bungy jump down a 30 metres ski jump on the mountain is a must, as is paragliding in the Alpes.
Another unique option for the more adventurous is to try free diving beneath the ice. This is the only place in France that offers this cold, but magic, activity – and it’s also the highest diving school in Europe. No equipment or previous diving experience is needed to take the plunge.
Few skiers would say no to a deep tissue massage of their soar ski muscles, followed by a dip in an outdoor pool or the hot jacuzzi. There are several SPAs to choose from where you can indulge in total relaxation on your down-day. So, enjoy Tignes – even without your skis!
